The Sixth Annual Event in TG history,

Return of the Turkey

is more than just our annual Tanked-giving fest.

It's a food drive to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

But make no mistake, we still will have a fun night celebrating the season with all of you!

Just don't show up empty handed; please bring food (or a check) for the food bank.

Also, we have mixers, and some really cheap box wine and beer for emergencies,

so don't be afraid to bring some of your own liquor (hint hint).

Again, Please bring food products to donate to the Food Bank,

visit the Food Bank's website for a list of suggested items.

All of your questions answered here:

Question: What’s this all about? Why now?

Answer: Now in its sixth year, this event is an attempt to take a preemptive strike against the insanity that is the holiday season. For about six weeks every year at this time, everyone's lives spin completely out of control with all the furor that is involved in Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, Bodhi Day, Festivus (JR insists this nonsense is included in the list), Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Years. By throwing their own event on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Sean and Dan are offering everyone in their lives an opportunity to come together before everyone is bogged down in the stress that the season can create. Furthermore, Sean and Dan often don’t have a chance without this effort to celebrate the season with all of the people in their lives, due to conflicting schedules, travel and so forth – so Sean and Dan try to bring everyone together to ensure that they have their chance to enjoy the holidays with them. And yes, of course Sean and Dan know that many people travel for Thanksgiving, but at the same time, those that are left here need something to do. Finally, the last reason to do this is that Sean always spends Friday following Thanksgiving in the mall, so he needs an excuse to unwind and a buffer from Dan’s wrath over how much he spent while out shopping.

Question: Can I bring something for the charming hosts?

Answer: An answer in three parts:

1) Not for the hosts, for the food bank - visit the Food Bank's website for a list of suggested items.
2) Sean and Dan provide light appetizers, so if you need a meal, plan accordingly.
3) Sean and Dan provide all sorts of beverages... just not alcohol. Available selections may include soda, diet soda, cranberry juice, orange juice, etc.

Question: Where is this charming Ormewood Park home that we are invited to?

Answer: Sean and Dan (poorly) maintain the home located at 1049 Gilbert Street SE, Atlanta. Click here for a map.

Question: I understand that Sean and Dan have great taste, will they like my friend ______ (fill in the blank) if I bring them?

Answer: Sean and Dan have complete trust in their friends' judgment - it is assumed that if you are liked enough to be invited, then the people you would drag with you must be equally passable - please feel free to bring people with you.

Question: I understand that you will be opening your doors at 8:00 pm, can I come later?

Answer: As Sean and Dan were not blessed with the virtue of punctuality, they plainly understand if guests need to arrive sometime after 8:00. The party will continue until all guests have willingly departed or until Sean and Dan have stragglers forcibly removed, so arrive anytime in the evening. If it is getting late and you are concerned that the party may be ending before you arrive, please feel free to call (404-624-4042) and confirm.

Question: What is appropriate dress for an event such as this?

Answer: Sean and Dan trust the good judgment of their invitees to determine what “socially acceptable” attire is. Dan reminds that his mother and/or father will likely be in attendance; please don’t scare her and/or him.

If you have any further concerns that remain unaddressed or to R.S.V.P. - contact Sean and Dan at returnofturkey@seananddan.com or 404-624-4042.
